Nervus ulnaris syndrome
At the elbow, the ulnar nerve passes through a narrow point at the lower humerus: the Sulcus ulnaris. In this area, the nerve runs near the surface which everybody has already learned when hitting their "funny bone". At this point, the nerve may be chronically constricted by soft tissue which may lead to disturbed sensation with tingling or numbness.
Technique
The objective is to free the nerve from its constraints. For this purpose, the nerve is located in his bed above the elbow and followed further down. If the constriction is very strong, the nerve is moved to the front and embedded into subcutaneous fat tissue.

Follow-up treatment
A rest of 2 weeks and careful mobilization are important for good healing. Depending on the degree of strain on the arm, the patient is able to return to work after 2 - 6 weeks. Return of sensation or motoric function depends on the duration of the complaints before surgery.
